Singapore's 1st Hello Kitty Orchid Garden Cafe at Changi Airport T3

Singapore first Hello Kitty Orchid Garden Cafe has finally landed in Changi Airport T3 and the good thing is, it's open 24 /7! YES, it’s the world's first 24 hours Hello Kitty themed cafe.

The setting of the cafe adopts more of the floral theme with green modern landscape and wooden furniture. They are also inspired by the Singapore national flower, Orchid. This cafe which can hold up to 84pax is set up at the public area at T3 Arrival Hall.

When you walk into the cafe, you will be greeted by the Hello Kitty Singapore mascot, which is the only one in the world with two bows and it don a purple dotted dress. There’s two 3D Hello Kitty figurines in the cafe for photo taking.

Went on a weekday during dinner time and the queue wasn’t that long and luckily we were seated after waiting for about 25 mins.

As for the menu, they served all day breakfast, pasta and other locally inspired menu.

Decided to order the Big Breakfast Surprise ($18.50). It comes with scrambled eggs, Shiitake mushrooms, smoked duck slices and kitty waffle topped with cheese. Paired this with their honey lime maple syrup. This breakfast looks so photogenic as the waffles is Hello Kitty figure. Taste wise OK-la. Nothing fantastic.

We wanted to order the Cowabunga! Wagyu! But it was sold out. :( So, we ordered the Land of the Rising Kitty ($17.50) instead.  Rising Kitty is a combination of spaghetti and chicken thigh with teriyaki sauce. The taste of the chicken teriyaki is good, but the pasta was abit hard.

Oops Kitty Did It Again is the Kitty Fries ($10.50). Big portion of fries that served with Himalayan pink salt, parmesan cheese and Truffle ketchup. Verdict: Normal.

Do take note that the cafe does not served water. Therefore, we ordered the Kitty cooler. It's so refreshing. They have 4 different flavours. This Cumbernade ($7.90) is a fizzy mocktail with cucumber syrup , lemonade and soda water. Cucumber taste was pretty strong.

Last but not least, we also tried their plated dessert.

The Cat In Paradise ($18.50) is a mango mousse with orange compote slices, hazelnut gelato, almond crumble, berry compete, green apple and strawberry marshmallow sauce. I quite like this dessert.

Overall, you can try this cafe if you have never been before or if you’re a Hello Kitty fanatic, although the food is not that amazing. But hey, what do you expect from a themed cafe. It's still worth to check it out at least once because it's Hello Kitty and for the cutie food deco.

Free the Robot Cafe @ Telok Ayer St

Finally, I visited this newly opened cafe at Telok Ayer at CBD area.

"FREE THE REBOT" is the name of the cafe, sound interesting to me. Like an adventure to find the trapped robot... :P

At the entrance, there's a huge wooden wall with cute comic arts, if you are lucky enough, you maybe greeted by Bailey the dog! (Should be the owner's dog, i supposed...lol)

Walked into the cafe, the ambience is cozy and the interior are like those olden shop houses, nicely decorated with dim warm lighting.

The staffs are so friendly and recommended the scrambled egg and bacon bits toastie ($6).

Totally love it. Still thinking of the toastie now. A must try item on the menu!

Besides coffee, you can try their Fresh Juice ($5.5). I had their pomegranate & apple juice. It's so refreshing.

As recommended, I decided to try their meatballs. You can choose to have it in bread or with pasta. I would say, they do make delicious and juicy meatball.

Prices on the menu are affordable, total damage less than $30 for 2 persons food and drinks.

Definitely would be back to this cafe again... soon. :D

The Plain Jane Cafe - Swiss Rolls cafe

The Plain Jane cafe located at Serangoon.

It's a small cosy cafe located at the HDB blocks. It's a perfect place for afternoon teatime.

On the table (picture below) is the Not So Plain Jane Swiss Roll - Matcha ($5.90) and the Lemon Yogurt Loaf.

The interior of the cafe is simple but it has the retro feel. It's filled with vintage items.

Sekeping Victoria in Penang

Sekeping Victoria is a combination of a modern cafe and lodging in an old building located along Victoria street (Lebuh Victoria). It's actually opposite the popular cafe Chinahouse.

Love everything about the place - the space, the ambience, the rustic charm, the walls and the natural lighting from the open space.

The place is so Instagram picturesque.

We had some fruit juices and the yogurt cake which it's one of the recommended. It's quite good actually.

Sneak peek at the rooms. There are front and back suites. Rooms are located at the second floor.

Overall, its a good place to chill with friends over coffee.

Tan Jetty in Penang

I love Tan Jetty. It's situated next to Chew Jetty at Weld Quay area. Unlike Chew Jetty, Tan Jetty is not that popular and less crowded but it got it's own beauty and uniqueness.

Love how serene the place is.
Depending on the tide on that day, the scenery will be very different.
First two pictures were taken on a high tide day while the third picture is on a low tide day.

Along the long wooden bridge, there's a red house in the middle. As seen in the picture, the red house is actually a temple.

Do walk further down beyond the temple area. From there can see a great view of Penang, ferries and Penang bridge.

Heard that there's a restaurant at Tan Jetty serving good Thai food. It's located almost at the end of Tan Jetty. Didn't have a chance to try but will try it the next time I am back in Penang. The shop name is called Lang Sae Lee.

That's all for now till the next post.
